Legacy Soccer Club Arrives in New England

Legacy Soccer Club (Legacy), formerly Easton United, is daring to be different by providing youth soccer players and their families a positive and enriching learning environment where they can thrive and develop both on and off the field of play.  Their long-term holistic approach to player development aims to provide a platform for success by focusing on soccer-specific education through technique and tactics as well as nurturing a player’s personal growth by providing leadership and mentoring opportunities.

Leading the development and growth of Legacy will be CEO John Barata and Director of Coaching Scott Dolan.  Both John and Scott have a wealth of knowledge and coaching experience in club, college and high school soccer in the northeast and they both hold several nationally accredited coaching licenses.

“I am excited and proud to be part of a club that dares to be different, a club that will not only teach soccer specific skills to players but will also develop character and leadership qualities.  Our aim is to provide all our players and families a safe, fun, and positive learning environment” said John Barata, CEO of Legacy Soccer Club.

Legacy's leadership team recognizes that there are a number of larger clubs that offer competitive soccer educational programs, but they feel with their local knowledge of the town soccer environment and having worked closely with Easton Youth Soccer to establish its own very successful youth program, the need for a club that offers a high-quality experience for all its members enhances each player's pathway.  Involving the local soccer community and town soccer programs is at the core of the long-term vision for Legacy.

“We want to work with local town organizations to help them achieve their goals and continue to thrive.  After thirteen years of service to a local town program, we have a great understanding of how to bring clubs and towns together” explained John Barata.

Legacy has been launched to build upon the success of its predecessor, Easton United, with an aim of providing local soccer families with an affordable, professional, and developmentally appropriate premier soccer experience.

“Our focus at Legacy will be to provide all of our players, regardless of their level of play, the same consistent learning environment where they can focus on playing attractive and attacking soccer. We will take great pride in how we play, especially with our own style of creative and attacking play.  Learning how to win is important but what’s more important is learning how to compete individually, strive for personal excellence, learn teamwork, and play the right way while fostering a passion for soccer.” added Scott Dolan, Director of Coaching for Legacy Soccer Club.

Legacy Soccer Club will be offering teams from 9U through 18U for the 2018/19 season and will be hosting open team tryouts for boys and girls during the weeks of June 4th and June 11th at the EYSL Soccer Fields at 100 Lothrop St., Easton.  Legacy Soccer Club will also soon be announcing its Legacy Academy program for players to develop their technical and tactical skills alongside their development as young leaders.
