--- A Year To Remember and Forget ---

Hello Legacy Family!

2020 has been a year we will always remember but would like to forget. It has been arguably the toughest year many of us have ever experienced in our lives. The COVID-19 virus impacted us all in some way; loss of loved ones, fear of sickness, loss of income/jobs, lockdowns and being unable to visit family and friends. Despite these challenges, Legacy Soccer Club and our families were able to experience so many positives.

We successfully:

  • launched the Legacy Virtual Training Academy during the lockdown phase
  • welcomed our friends and families from Mansfield FC and many other communities to the club
  • completed a full summer schedule of social distance training
  • actively navigated the Return to Play Protocols
  • completed the full fall season of training, games and competitive events
  • 15 of our 20 teams finished at the top of their divisions in the Fall CCL
  • shifted our winter training months to complete a full winter season
  • had several players in the club identified for high level training and playing opportunities with the Olympic Development Program and the Regional Development Program

As we reflect on 2020, we will celebrate the successes on and off the field but more importantly, we praise all our families for your continued support during these difficult times. Legacy has experienced tremendous success during 2020 with just over 400 players and 16 coaches. Our facility partnerships have grown and our opportunities for players are abundant. Our alliance with NEFC has afforded our coaches, players and staff with opportunities to grow and will continue to develop. With all this success we are most proud of our FAMILY. The culture, passion and family we are working to create is working even with the challenges of no gatherings, masks, etc. We look forward to the future and our “gatherings” again! The Legacy Juniors Academy, the cornerstone of our club, experienced significant growth and is a great place for the passion and love of soccer to be developed. We are pleased that this program is taking off and welcoming many families from Sharon, Mansfield, Easton and many other local communities.

By continuing to work together and support each other we can enter 2021 positively, empowered by the knowledge that the future belongs to us again. We would like to thank our wonderful coaching staff for all the time and effort they shared with our players during a very difficult year for coaching. The staff embraced the challenges and used them as opportunities for growth and development. Our club communication was top notch and that is largely in part to our fantastic group of managers! We are blessed to have amazing managers that help communicate effectively and this year was certainly the year of communication.

We look forward to a new year of stronger partnerships with Techne Futbol, ACA (College Recruiting) and NEFC. We are most excited to continue building relationships with our families and players with our weekly check-ins, our soccer clinics and training opportunities and our Individual Player meetings.
