EASTON, MASSACHUSETTS (July 7, 2020) – Legacy Soccer Club (LSC) is pleased to announce a strategic, first of its kind, alliance with New England Futbol Club (NEFC). This alliance presents families with a complete player-centric environment that includes developmental opportunities for athletes that have excelled in their technical, tactical, and physical aspects of the game. This unique partnership pairs two Players First organizations that are committed to excellence and accountability in the development of their players and coaches. The strategic alliance allows for the dynamic sharing of human resources, facilities and methodologies that will allow both organizations to continue to evolve, adapt and thrive in New England’s youth soccer environment.

Slated to start in the Fall 2020, the LSC-NEFC alliance offers top players the opportunity to reach their potential without having to leave their current club. As an organization that has an annual retention rate of 95%, Legacy wants to provide a clear and concise pathway for elite players. Legacy currently competes in the CCL and USYS League Championship platforms. NEFC boasts teams that compete in several different national and regional leagues including the NEP, NPL, ECNL (boys), RDL (boys), MLS (boys), DPL (girls) and GAL (girls). The primary goals of this partnership are to bring like-minded soccer organizations together to grow the game, provide access to the highest level of competition while serving the soccer community with the best possible youth soccer experience.

This alliance will:

  • Create synergies by bringing together some of the top soccer minds and organizations with proven track records of excellence
  • Position both organizations to advance the growth of soccer through innovation across the region, from those first starting their soccer journey to those ready to advance to the highest
    level of competition
  • Provide access to all levels of competition (National, Regional, State and Local)
  • Provide a full-service playing pyramid and pathway for players of all abilities
  • Provide a strategic relationship to develop the best player development model for all players
  • Provide access to showcase events for age appropriate players
  • Provide opportunities for joint training, combined programming, and shared virtual resources
  • Provide an optimal environment for professional staff development for both administrators and coaches

“There are decades of experience built into NEFC, and we are proud to align with another Players First club. It is an honor to be able to assist our players, families and coaches and have them gain from the knowledge and well-established track record this alliance will bring. It is a reward not only to our current families, but to all our future growth as well. This alliance and partnership program are a testament of our hard work paying off in doing the right things, year-after-year,” stated John Barata, Legacy Soccer Club Founder.

“I have been speaking with John over the past 12 years about our clubs building a relationship. Although there is inevitable change in the youth soccer landscape, with our new partner, we will continue to provide player-centered environments and positive opportunities for growth. I am excited to be aligned with such a great club and to have Legacy staff work alongside our staff as NEFC competes to be one of the best clubs in the country,” said Brian Mazar, NEFC President.
